Yacht Services Ltd boasts a long history and has expanded and developed with time and experience. Before passing into the able hands of Charlie and his wife Jan, the company was run by John Hurst, who, in 1964, recognised its potential in view of the development of Malta's first marina, which, however, lacked adequate facilities. YSL was set up to fill the lacuna, providing these and other services to visiting yachtsmen. Originally, YSL also provided guardienage and carpentry, as well as mechanical and electrical services. 

Charlie took over YSL in 1991, but his marine experience dates back to way beyond a decade. A commercial saturation diver for 14 years, followed by another six years skippering a variety of sailing and power boats, Charlie is still a keen and active yachtsman and participates in a host of international and local racing events.

Charlie's touch and know-how have served to improve on the already reputable, long-standing company by increasing the range of marine services on offer. Charlie and Jan have built on the insight of the company's founder, constantly upgrading YSL's services and successfully navigating the company into the new millennium.
